The guide for perfect Tuxedos

“ Dressing well is a form of good manner” – Tom Ford

Yes, but one often waffles to pick out a well dress for any event. In fact, deciding what to binge-watch is more easy than picking what to wear.

Getting ready for evening events where neither formal, nor casuals can be opted can be a great headache.  You will need something which has essence of both.

Well this is when ‘tuxedos’ comes to save you. Tuxedos helps you look elegant and flawlessly miraculous.

Why Tuxedos ?

Tuxedos are made from really high quality of fabric, usually silk.

When a tuxedo is a stitched one, it adds more details both to the suit and your physique.

Here’s a guide to what all element make a perfect tuxedo

1. A evening shirt

A tuxedo shirt is usually a semi formal shirt. Traditionally the shirt is of  white color. It can be plain or plated at the front depending upon your choice. Other elements of a perfect shirt are:

The collar
Wing collar- A wing collar is high and stiff. Only the top end are turned down. It is a formal or traditional type of collar.

Turndown collar- This are the most basic and preferred type. As the name says, the ends of the collar fall downwards forming a triangle. A turndown collar will give you the look you want, a Gentleman.
The cuffs
The cuffs are the ends of the sleeves. The most basic and  appropriate cuff for evening shirt is a double “ French cuffs”.

2. Tuxedo trouser
Although the upper waist portion of a tuxedos attracts the most but the pants cannot be forgotten.
If your trousers fit well then it will enhance and simplify your tuxedos. But if those are baggy and getting pooled at your ankle you might look scruffy and not dapper.

Better to avoid the awkward eyes at the evening, get your trousers stitched. Nothing fits well than a tailor-made.

3. Cummerbund
Cummerbund is a silk sash that is usually plated and is worn around the waist. This part of a tuxedo is often overlooked or many a times avoided successfully.
It prevents the shirt from peaking out of the jacket and cover your waist. It also helps to from a V shape at the above chest area.
Wearing a cummerbund is totally an option. But wearing them  will give your tux a stronger shape.

4. Bow ties
The bow tie looks best in black. The material used is either silk or grosgrain only. You can prefer different bow tie that suits your face and your type.

5. Jacket
The jacket is one main element of any tuxedo. Although you might feel that every jacket is same, but here is how it can be distinguished.

The Lapels
The two little flaps coming out from both the side of a jacket are lapels.

The 3 lapels are :
Peak lapel – The tips of the flaps point upwards resembling a “peak” like structure. This is most formal and traditional.
Shawl lapel – This type suits best for dinner or a evening party. AS the name says, the jacket’s collar goes around the neck without any cuts representing a shawl. They never go out of fashion.
Notch lapel – These are also known as step collar or step lapel. They are sewn at an angle to create step effect or a notch. The size of notch may differ. These are very appropriate for tuxedos.

Single breasted jacket
When the buttons of the jacket are in a single line it is a single breasted jacket. These are mostly worn jackets on any occasion. They never go off fashion, so one can wear it even after ages and still look stylish.
You should never button the bottom buttons of the jacket as it might look extra fitted. Choose to button only the a middle button.

Double breasted jacket
There are two vertical line of button on a double breasted jacket. This appeals a very formal look. Almost all the double breasted jackets have peak lapels.
Wearing a black shinny shoes will highlight the tuxedo.
When to wear a tuxedo ?
Tuxedo are different from routine suits. They can be worn on every occasion or event. You should wear a tuxedo only for a special event or occasion, when you want to make the day or event memorable.
Weddings, date, prom or evening parties. After 6 pm event are only for tuxedos. Tuxedos looks authentic and elegant in Black or Midnight blue.
